Wesley Takes down F&M

2011-11-5

Wesley was riding high off of their back-to-back wins against PSU and Gettysburg. They hoped to keep things going against F&M. F&M was in need of a regulation win after being taken to the brink twice and coming up short.

The game started timid with neither team generating great scoring chances. However, with under two minutes remaining Wesley finally found their stride. They were awarded multiply powerplays and they scored three unanswered in the final two minutes on goals from Warren Groos, Bryan McDonald and Trevor Sullivan.

Earl Johnson of Wesley began his multi point night early in the second with a goal in the first minute of play. Franklin and Marshall would grab their only goal a minute later from William Kempner. Wesley would then really open things up as they went on to score seven more goals that period taking a commanding 11-1 lead. Towards the end of the period, roughness ensued and multiple players were ejected from the game. This was not good news for F&M who already had a short bench and would not be able to continue in to the third period. They would forefit the remainder of the game giving Wesley the win.

F&M hopes to recover next week but has their work cut out for them as they take on #1 Dickinson. Wesley hopes to continue their winning streak next week against Mount Saint Mary's.
